Аннотация. Настоящая статья посвящена проведению комплексного и глубокого сравнительного анализа того, как современные СМИ в России и США освещают тему патриотизма. В нашей эпоху глобализации и технологического прогресса роль СМИ как фактора формирования общественного мнения является неоспоримой.

Важным аспектом обсуждения патриотизма в СМИ является его связь с внешней политикой. Оба исследуемых региона демонстрируют высокую степень внешнеполитической направленности патриотического дискурса, при этом, в каждом из них это происходит по-своему. В российских СМИ патриотизм часто ассоциируется с защитой национальных интересов в международной арене, в то время как американские СМИ акцентируют внимание на обеспечении мирового лидерства и укреплении демократических ценностей.

В представленной работе был проанализирован обширный корпус данных, включающий материалы крупнейших СМИ России и США за период 2012-2023 гг. Было изучено около 20 публикаций на тему патриотизма в каждой из стран.

Abstract. This article is devoted to conducting a comprehensive and in-depth comparative analysis of how modern media in Russia and the United States cover the topic of patriotism. In our era of globalization and technological progress, the role of the media as a factor in shaping public opinion is indisputable.

An important aspect of the discussion of patriotism in the media is its connection with foreign policy. Both studied regions demonstrate a high degree of foreign policy orientation of patriotic discourse, while in each of them it happens in its own way. In the Russian media, patriotism is often associated with the protection of national interests in the international arena, while the American media focuses on ensuring world leadership and strengthening democratic values.

In the presented work, an extensive data corpus was analyzed, including materials from the largest mass media in Russia and the United States for the period 2012-2023. About 20 publications on the topic of patriotism in each of the countries were studied.
