The article examines the impact of government support measures on the efficiency and investment attractiveness of certain areas of crop production using the example of the Kursk region as a region with a dynamically developing agro-industrial complex. In the system of investment potential of the agro-industrial complex of the region, state support in current economic conditions is becoming one of the central factors in boosting investment activity, since against the background of the crisis, the contribution of farmers and other private investors is expected to decrease due to an increase in the level of investment risks. In the course of the study, a hypothesis was formed that direct government support, as an important tool for increasing investment activity in agriculture, can have a significant positive impact on economic results in crop production, thereby increasing investment attractiveness and creating a solid foundation for the further development of its individual areas. For the purposes of the study, the dynamics of the total amount of state support funds and their structure for the main crops grown in the region are considered, and using correlation and regression analysis, an assessment of the degree of influence of the level of financial support on economic efficiency is given. It was found that in the dynamics after 2022 and the transformations in the economy related to the change in the political situation, the pace of investment support for the development of crop production in the region from the state has decreased. The hypothesis formed in the framework of the study was not confirmed by the results of the correlation and regression analysis. In crop production in the Kursk region, investment support for the development of certain areas in the form of direct government support has significantly decreased due to the intensification of the economic crisis, but the absence of a direct causal relationship between the level of economic efficiency and the volume of funds allocated for specific types of crops in dynamics indicates a low degree of influence of the latter on performance and, as a result, investment the attractiveness of a particular crop production area.
