The article examines the current state of small business in the agricultural sector of the Krasnodar Territory. Their role in agricultural production, employment and rural development is shown. The changes in the number of peasant (farmer) farms, individual entrepreneurs, small organizations, personal subsidiary farms and cooperatives are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the dynamics of land areas, the structure of agricultural land and the consolidation of existing farms. The volume of budget financing of agriculture, including support for small agricultural producers, is considered. It has been established that the reduction in the number of individual entities is accompanied by an increase in the average area of used land and an increased role of individual entrepreneurs. The results obtained allow us to identify the main trends and problematic areas of development of the small agricultural sector in the region. The conclusion is made about the need for further development of cooperation, expanding access to finance, technology, land resources and sustainable sales channels.
