The article examines theoretical and applied aspects of the functioning of the logistics system of the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation. The relevance of the study is due to the need to reduce product losses at the post-production stages in the context of global challenges and the structural transformation of world economic ties. The purpose of the work is to scientifically substantiate strategic directions for optimizing logistics processes in the agro-industrial complex, which ensure minimizing losses and increasing the efficiency of the movement of goods. The methodological basis of the work was a systematic approach implemented through methods of comparative and structural-functional analysis, scientific classification, monographic and abstract-logical methods. Organizational and management strategies are aimed at developing logistics cooperation of small businesses, optimizing transport routes based on forecast analytics and the use of logistics outsourcing mechanisms. Practical recommendations were formulated for government bodies, agricultural producers and logistics operators, as well as promising areas for further research related to an in-depth analysis of regional specifics and the search for differentiated solutions in the field of agrology.
