The article studies the issues of assessing the effectiveness of the livestock industry in the Southern Federal District, as one of the agricultural leaders in our country. The analysis of the dynamics of production indicators, balanced financial result, share in the production of livestock products of agricultural enterprises engaged in the production of livestock products is carried out. The values of the indicators of the level of profitability, sales of these products by agricultural enterprises are studied. Based on the results of the study, the corresponding conclusions are made.
