The article is of a research nature and is devoted to the analysis of strategies for the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex of the Krasnodar Territory through increased innovation activity. The dynamics of the economic indicators of the region, such as the gross regional product, the growth rate of agricultural production and the degree of innovation activity, were studied. It was determined that the main problems associated with the development of the agricultural sector are related to infrastructure, economy and the environment. It is assumed that attracting investments at the federal, regional and micro levels is beneficial for the modernization of the production base and the use of "green" technologies. Increasing the competitiveness and environmental sustainability of agro-firms is part of the goal of the study to create a model for the sustainable development of the region's agro-industrial complex. Within the framework of this article, directions are proposed to improve the innovation environment and strategies for stimulating innovation. The result of the study was the identification of elements that ensure the sustainable growth of the agro-industrial complex, such as invest-ments, technical and technological characteristics, labor and environmental factors that support food security in the region.
