The paper shows the importance of the ethnic factor in modern interdisciplinary research. The ethnic aspects of the development of migration processes are considered at the regional level within the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The time span of the conducted research begins in the 50s of the XX century and ends today. Migration processes have been crucial in the development of the region's population since the 1950s. The article from Russian scientists pays great attention to regional researchers who conducted their work mainly in the framework of geographical, sociological and historical sciences. To determine the correlation coefficient with the share of internal migration of municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan, many indicators were used, among which the national composition of municipalities of the republic is of particular value for this work.
