In modern conditions, the Russian economy is faced with a huge number of sanctions imposed by Western countries. In modern conditions, the strategic task of state agricultural policy is to achieve sustainable development of agricultural enterprises and ensure food security. The article presents data on the dynamics and results of the development of the agro-industrial complex under conditions of sanctions pressure and food embargo. The article substantiates the need and explores current areas of state support for the agro-industrial complex at the current stage of development of the Russian economy. Measures and instruments of state support aimed at developing and expanding agricultural production, increasing its efficiency and profitability have been studied. The conditions necessary to receive grants and subsidies for running the agro-industrial complex are considered. The dynamics of the amounts of state support allocated for the development of the agricultural sector are presented. An analysis of changes and innovations in the strategy of the agro-industrial complex until 2030 is given. Priority areas of state support for the agro-industrial complex have been identified.
