The article discusses issues related to the activities of legal entities of non-profit organizations (NPOs) in the Russian Federation. The dynamics of the number of NPOs in Russia as a whole has been studied. An analysis of the number of functioning NPOs among the federal districts of our country was carried out. The dynamics of the number of operating non-profit organizations in the Southern Federal District (SFD), as well as in the territories of the constituent entities of the Southern Federal District, has been studied. An analysis of the dynamics of the number of operating non-profit consumer cooperation enterprises (PCs) was carried out, both in the Russian Federation as a whole and among federal districts. The dynamics of PC indicators among the subjects of the Southern Federal District was studied. Conclusions are formulated and directions for further development of NPOs in the Russian Federation are determined.
