This article examines current trends in the methodology of teaching economists and the formation of their professional competence. The authors analyze various pedagogical approaches used in educational institutions and identify features specific to the training of economists. The article highlights issues related to the use of modern educational technologies, active learning method, case analysis and project work. Special attention is paid to interaction with industry and practice, as well as the formation of students not only theoretical knowledge, but also skills for practical application of acquired knowledge in the modern economic environment.
