JOINT CROPPING OF CORN AND SOYBEAN IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE FOOTDOWN ZONE OF THE KABARDINO-BALKARIAN REPUBLIC
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
This article examines the impact of soybean seeding rates in a two-component mixture with corn. Field studies have shown that strip seeding is effective for the consistent production of high-quality silage in the foothills of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, as it provides a more favorable microclimate for the growth, development, and formation of green fodder yields and air-dry matter growth. The established seeding rate of 110,000 viable seeds per hectare of soybeans in these mixed crops ensures the highest productivity and nutritional value of green fodder. Cultivation of corn with soybeans using macro and micro fertilizers N60P60K40+Zn+Mo provides the production of 39.8-42.6 t/ha of green mass, digestible protein 1.05-1.09 t/ha, feed units 9.20-10.50 t/ha and feed protein units - 10.20-10.70 t/ha, which is 5-19% higher than when sowing in pure form.
